11 THE HEATING PROCESS
The new standard of BRUNNER fireplaces is called “green”. With the right
fuel and the right operation, a BRUNNER fireplace can be operated with
the lowest possible emissions. The combustion chamber is designed as a
trough firebox without a grate or ash box. The combustion air flows later-
ally into the combustion chamber trough (primary air) and falls down as
pane scavenging air (secondary air) from the area above the door into the
combustion chamber. The air control lever is always used to set the correct
ratio of primary and secondary air depending on the combustion situation.
Optimum emissions are achieved when the logs are stacked cross-
wise at the bottom of combustion chamber!
The ash bed at the bottom of combustion chamber cannot block the
lateral combustion air lever!
Remember to remove the excess of ash in time!
