What to do if my Buffalo B100 has no fuel feed?
    • E
      Elizabeth KellerAug 18, 2025
To resolve the issue of no fuel feed in your Buffalo Pellet stove, ensure the stove is properly connected to a grounded 120V AC electrical outlet that is supplying power. Also, check that the hopper is filled with pellets, the rear hopper lid and burn chamber door are securely closed and latched, and the ash pan is correctly installed. Inspect the vacuum line for any breaks, looseness, or obstructions, and clear or replace it as necessary. Examine the exhaust vent system for blockages and clean it. Lubricate the exhaust blower. Inspect the auger for jams and clear them. If these steps don't work, the auger motor, vacuum switch, or exhaust blower might have failed and require testing and replacement.

Why does my Buffalo B100 Pellet stove start and run, then FA1 faults with no pellets in the burn pot?
    • W
      woodsbrandonAug 20, 2025
If your Buffalo Pellet stove starts, runs, and then faults with an FA1 error, and no unburned pellets remain in the burn pot, it could be due to several reasons. First, ensure that the hopper is filled with pellets. Second, the feed rate might be set too low; increase the base feed rate of the stove using "Set-up Mode". Finally, there might be an issue with fuel feed; consult the "No fuel feed" section for troubleshooting steps.

Why does my Buffalo B100 Pellet stove have a lazy flame and pellets piling up?
    • J
      Jason MendezAug 23, 2025
If your Buffalo Pellet stove exhibits a lazy or dark orange flame with pellets piling up in the burn pot, several factors could be responsible. Start by cleaning the burn pot, burn grate, and burn box to remove any obstructions that restrict airflow. Next, clean out the ash traps, as filled ash traps can also cause this issue. If the feed rate is too high, reduce it using the "Set-up Mode". The problem may also be caused by poor quality fuel, so acquire and use better quality fuel. Lastly, inspect the exhaust vent system for blockages and clean it if necessary.

      ufowlerAug 26, 2025
If your Buffalo Pellet stove starts, runs, and then faults with an FA1 error, but unburned pellets are found in the burn pot, it indicates an overheat condition due to a feed rate set too high. To resolve this, reduce the base feed rate of the stove using "Set-up Mode".

If you smell smoke in your home when using your Buffalo Pellet stove, it could be due to a few reasons. First, check if there was a power outage and restore power to the stove if necessary. Next, inspect the venting system for leaks and seal any joints in the vent pipe with high-temperature RTV silicone sealant. Also, examine the exhaust vent system for any blockages or restrictions and clean it if needed.

    • S
      Steven StanleyAug 30, 2025
If your Buffalo Pellet stove is powered on but not firing, it may be because the set point temperature is less than 2.1 degrees above the current room temperature. To fix this, increase the set point temperature or switch to User Control Mode to operate the stove.

Why does my Buffalo B100 Pellet stove start but not fire (FA1 error)?
    • P
      Patrick AndersonSep 2, 2025
If your Buffalo Pellet stove goes into start-up mode but does not fire, eventually displaying an FA1 error, there are several potential causes. First, ensure the hopper is filled with pellets. If the auger wasn't primed at start-up, clean the burn pot, prime the auger, and restart the stove. A dirty burn pot can also cause this, so clean it thoroughly. Check for any issues with fuel feed. Inspect, test, and replace the exhaust blower snap switch if it has failed.

      Michelle McphersonSep 7, 2025

Why does the exhaust blower run when there is no fire in my Buffalo B100?
    • J
      James CherrySep 9, 2025
If the exhaust blower runs with no fire in your Buffalo Pellet stove, it could be due to several reasons. If the stove was recently powered on, the exhaust blower will run for 30 minutes. If the stove has FA1 faulted (no fire), the exhaust blower will also run for 30 minutes; refer to the "Stove not firing" section for troubleshooting. Additionally, the exhaust blower will run for 30 minutes after the stove has recently shut down.
