and height, if necessary.

Parking Brake
When parking the vehicle, firmly apply
the parking brake to keep the vehicle
stationary.
To set the parking brake, pull up the
parking brake handle. To get larger
braking force, press down and hold
the brake pedal first and then pull up
the parking brake handle.
To release the parking brake, slightly
pull up the parking brake handle (1),
press the lock release button (2) and
then put down the parking brake
handle (3).
To remind you that the parking brake
is applied, the warning indicator on
the dashboard will stay on until you
release the parking brake handle.
CAUTION
y To park an automatic
transmission vehicle, shift to P
gear; to park a manual
transmission vehicle, turn off the
engine and shift to any gear
other than N gear. This can
prevent the vehicle from moving
due to accidental operation or
parking brake failure.
y Before driving the vehicle, make
sure the parking brake is fully
released and the parking brake
warning indicator goes out.
y Driving with the parking brake on
can cause damage to the rear
brake, tires and axle.
