3.11 Connecting the Ethernet Cables
The cables used to support Gigabit operation (10/100/1000) should be rated CAT-6. Install the Ethernet cabling using the
following steps:
1. Strip back the jacket of the subscriber's Ethernet cable and connect the 4-pair twisted wires to the RJ-45 plugs using a
RJ-45 crimper. Refer to Table 3-2 for straight-through cable wiring standards.

2. Secure the RJ-45 plugs into the RJ-45 sockets on the ON 2364. If you are applying Dow Corning® High-Vacuum grease
to weatherproof the ONT, as described in Section 3.3.2 Weatherproofing the 2364 ONT, inject a small amount ball
about 1/4 inch diameter into each connector receptacle. Slowly insert an the connector, allowing the grease to well up
and fill all the space in the RJ-45 connector and around the Ethernet cable. Make sure to remove any excess grease.
