Draining Your Portable Spa Draining Your Portable Spa
Your spa should be drained every four to six months, for cleaning and maintenance. This interval for
most swim spa owners is every 6 months, as swim spas have more water volume compared to a reg-
ular hot tub, this varies based on bather load. Every time the spa is emptied it must lled with fresh
tap water. Avoid leaving your swim spa empty of water. Before you begin turn the power o to the
spa at the breaker and remove your lters, perform lter maintenance as well to not introduce con-
taminants in your new spa water.
Note - For Olympian swim spas, the small spa side should be drained and lled every 2-3 months.
This interval is based on bather load and water testing information, unique to each spa owner.
