Effective Use of the Microphone
When you want to record surrounding sounds
such as at athletic competitions or festivals, the
microphone built into the camera is adequate,
but if there is excessive noise and a specific
sound cannot be recorded clearly, use an op¬
tional directional microphone.
When recording in strong winds, the whirling
sound of the wind can prevent good sound re¬
cording. At such times cover the microphone
with a handkerchief. While recording, listen
through an earphone to make sure the micro¬
phone has been covered effectively.

STORAGE
Lens Protection
it is advisable to use a UV filter to protect the
lens against dust and fingerprints.
Take Good Care of Equipment
Recording can demand moving around quite a
bit. Equipment can become damaged by vi¬
brations, shocks or falls during transport. Take
good care of all equipment to ensure quality
recordings and long life for your video system.
Before storing your equipment, be sure to clean
it of dirt, dust, moisture and salt deposits.
