COLOUR
TEMPERATURE
WHAT
IS
COLOUR,
TEMPERATURE?
The
colour
cast
by
each
type
cf
lighting
differs
depending
on
the
light
source,
such
as
red
from
candlelight
and
white
from
fluorescent.
Difference
in
colour
is
expressed
as
colour
temperature
in
terms
of
unit
"K"
(Kelvin).
As
colour
of
lighting
changes,
red
yellow
white
biue.
the
colour
temperature
rises.
White
paper,
under
candlelight
or
fluorescent
light,
will
look
white
to
the
human
eye
because
the
eye
adapts
quickly
to
differences
in
lighting.
A
camera,
however,
cannot
make
this
distinction,
so
white
paper
under
candlelight
for
example,
will
took
reddish.
To
balance
the
colour
of
the
recording
and
make
objects
appear
as
natural
as
possible
under
the
lighting
you
are
about
to
shoot
under,
white
balance
adjustment
is
neces¬
sary.
If
a
recording
is
made
without
white
balance
adjustment,
the
colour
of
the
recorded
subject
will
look
unnatural.
