The plates or non-insulated electrodes (resistive) cannot enter into contact with the
central unit’s casing or any other conductive material when the outputs of the device
are activated. This precaution will avoid other surfaces from being exposed to the
same power as the device’s output and thusly reduces the risk of electrocuting
patients and operators.
Manual electrodes
When manipulating electrodes during the treatment, always first set the power
regulator to zero.
After each treatment the manual electrodes should be disinfected with a class IIa
disinfectant..
Before cleaning the electrodes, the operator should turn off the device.
When using the manual electrode, make sure that:
- You have deactivated the outputs before applying the return element.
- The electrode is being used with as much contact surface as possible.
- When performing a resistive application, pay specific attention to the energy
being delivered by the device.
It is important to maintain the accessories with care. Please avoid them from bumping
or falling. Damaged accessories are a risk for the patient’s health and safety if applied
during a treatment.
During the application of the manual electrode, an excess of vehicle cream or
cosmetics may build up on the electrodes surface. This may generate a voltaic arc
causing the current to concentrate in that area and wearing down the electrode. In
case of a built-up it is therefore recommended you lower the power to cero and then
wipe off the excess product. You may then continue the treatment.
Intracavitary eletrode
Under no pretext should be used the intracavitary accessory with conductive gel
between the body of intracavitary and the vaginal-rectal probes. The use of the gel
should be exclusively external to the vaginal-rectal probes, when appropriate, as a
coupling medium.
The vaginal-rectal probes approved by the manufacturer is of prescriptive use for
performing intracavitary treatments, to ensure the health and safety, and to guarantee
the correct coupling, being prohibited the use of any other type of condom, echo
sounder, or similar product.
