8.3. E-bike transportation
• Do not place the e-bike in the car boot for more than one day.
Protect the e-bike from damage by sunlight.
• An e-bike is heavier than a normal bike.
If transporting on a vehicle, be aware of the maximum load capacity of the vehicle’s
roof, towing hook and/or of the applied bike carrier.
• Always respect local laws about transportation of an electric bicycle.
• As the size and power of this Li-Ion batteries are considered as ‘Dangerous goods,
class 9,’ you may be restricted in the transport of separate Li-Ion batteries in some
places when transporting.
The restrictions apply to most airlines and some courier companies. But, if you intend
toshiportravelwithyourcompletee-bike(withinstalledbattery),theregulationsare
less strict. Make sure to check ahead with your airline or carrier, before booking your
trip to ensure you are allowed to travel with your complete e-bike.
• The e-bike, including batteries, is subject to legislation on the transport of dangerous
goods. Private users can only transport undamaged batteries by road without complying
withadditionalrequirements.

may require the use of specialized packaging, specic hazard labeling, and specic
documents certifying in compliance with the applicable local regulations.
