Fishing and Moon Movement
Lunar Observation Direction (Hour Angle)
The lunar observation direction is expressed
as an hour angle, with an angle of 00:00 when
the Moon is directly overhead, 06:00 when it
is 90° to the west from overhead, 12:00 when
it is directly below, and 18:00 when it is 90° to
the east from overhead. The Moon takes an
average of approximately 24 hours and 50
minutes to perform one revolution around the
Earth.

Interpreting the Fishing Mark Count

Note
On a monthly basis, fishing is said to
be best during a New Moon or Full
Moon phase, and next best during a
Last Quarter or First Quarter phase.
On a daily (hour angle) basis, fishing is
said to be best during hour angles
00:00 and 12:00, and next best during
hour angles 06:00 and 18:00.
The watch uses Fishing Mark counts
(×1, ×2, ×3, ×4) to indicate best fishing
times based on New Moon/Full Moon
and 00:00/12:00 hour angle
combinations.

Note that the season of the year, water
temperature and other factors greatly
influence fish behavior, so the
indications produced by this watch are
intended for general reference only.

You can view sunrise and sunset times for the
port you specified with PRO TREK
Connected.
Specifying a Port (Fishing
Point)
Use PRO TREK Connected to select the port
whose sunrise and sunset times you want to
view.

Use PRO TREK Connected to specify
a port. Note that you cannot configure
this setting using watch operations.
Looking Up Today’s Sunrise
and Sunset Times
1. In the FISH Mode, display today’s sunrise/
sunset times.

Navigating Between Modes

The display alternates at two-second
intervals between the sunrise and sunset
times of the port you specified with PRO
TREK Connected.
