Why aren't the LAYER or SPLIT buttons working on my Casio Electronic Keyboard?

  If nothing happens when you press the LAYER or SPLIT button on your Casio Electronic Keyboard, it could be due to a few reasons. One or more of the melody channels (2 through 4) might be turned off, so use the Mixer to turn them on. Alternatively, the volume setting of one or more of the melody channels (2 through 4) might be too low, so raise the volume using the Mixer. Also, the keyboard might be in record standby, during which the LAYER and SPLIT buttons are disabled.

  If playing the keyboard produces an unnatural sound when connected to a computer, the computer’s MIDI Thru function might be turned on. Turn off the MIDI Thru function on the computer or turn off Local Control on the keyboard.

  If you cannot record auto accompaniment or rhythm on your Casio Electronic Keyboard, it is possible that a track other than Track 1 is selected as the recording track. Use the track select buttons to select Track 1.

  If you cannot record chord accompaniment data on a computer from your Casio Electronic Keyboard, it might be because Accomp MIDI Out is turned off. Turn on Accomp MIDI Out.
