Digital Readout Does Not Match the Floor Scale
Depending on which controller the equipment is equipped with, the Thompson Controller we
use, has a feature called offset compensation which allows you to adjust the packer scale to
the floor scale. The Avery and the Rice Lake do not. On those controllers all you can do is
adjust the dribble –for how fast you are filling, target weight or Preact.
o Adjust Target, Dribble.
o Adjust pre-act in controller.
o Adjust Offset compensation.
o Binding on load cells – one to another
o Recalibrate scale
Controller Does Not Light Up
o Check to make sure the Power switch is “on”. Switch is located on the PLC
enclosure.
o Check 110v fuse on transformer is good. R/R if bad
o Check E-stop – make sure it is pulled out.
o Check round in- line fuse in the GSE controller. R/R if bad
o Check for loose wire.
o Bad LED display board
Dirty Filling
o Insufficient dust collection pickup volume.
o Bag seal not inflated enough. Material bypassing the seal.
o Operator not putting the bag neck on the filler spout far enough.
o Bad bag seal
