PRIMING
SYSTEM.

DESCRIPTION.
A
manually
operated
priming
system
is
installed
on
carburetor
engines
only.
Fuel
is
supplied
by
a
line
from
the
fuel
strainer
to the
plunger-type
primer.
Operating
the
primer
forces
fuel
to
the
aft
end
of
each
intake
manifold,
thus
priming
the
entire
length
of
the
intake
manifold
for
each
bank
of
cylinders.
Replacement
of
the
primer
is
accomplished
by
disconnecting
the
fuel
lines
at
the
primer
and
removing
the
primer
from
the
in-
strument
panel.
Before
installing
a
primer,
check
it
for
correct
pumping
action
and
positive
fuel
shut-
off
in
the
locked
position.
Primer
lines
should
be
replaced
when
crushed
or
broken
and
should
be
properly
clamped
to
prevent
fatigue
due
to
vibration
and
chafing.
