2.7 The provider identifies the female coupling of
the receiver’s buddy breather manifold from
the quick connect coupling.
Remove the rubber protective dust cover.
2.8 While holding the receiver’s buddy breathing
hose in the right hand, the provider locates
their hanging buddy breathing hose with their
left hand and connects their male quick
connect nipple to the receivers female quick
connect coupling with a single action.
2.9 Check that the buddy hose is properly routed
and not tangled with any other part of the BA
(for example neck strap, chest strap, etc.)
2.10 The receiver ensures they can breathe normally sharing the provider’s air.
Receiver indicates to the provider that they are breathing normally.
2.11 The provider checks for secure engagement
by pulling on the quick connect fittings to
ensure that the female coupling does not
separate from the male nipple.
