Chapter 5
After-use Care and Maintenance
This chapter contains information about:
authorised service;
cleaning the BA after use after doffing;
cleaning and disinfect the facemask;
battery management; and
storage.
Authorised Service
The G1 E BA must be regularly checked and serviced annually by the State PPE&C
Management Centre. Inspection and service records must be maintained.
Changes to devices or components are not permitted.
Operators must inspect the entire BA after it has been cleaned and disinfected.
If the BA does not meet any of the inspections, it must be removed from
service and returned to the State PPE&C Management Centre with an
attached fault report.
Cleaning the BA after Use
Cleaning the BA can be done before doffing to remove contamination.
The complete BA can be washed if necessary, for example if there is
potential asbestos contamination.
