MSA G1 Electronic Breathing Apparatus
Carrier frame
The carrier frame is constructed of flame retardant composite nylon and is
ergonomically designed with a backplate.
The carrier frame consists of the following:
a dragging handle;
two carry handles (each with the capacity to carry up to 180 kg);
a power module including two piezo alarm speakers;
a battery (removable and rechargeable);
four buddy lights;
a quick-fill coupling (currently blank-capped off and not in use);
a quick-fill light (currently not enabled);
passive radio frequency identifiers (RFID);
a bumper (a shock absorber on the underside of the pressure reducer); and
a lower bracket for the pressure reducer.
The G1 E BA is National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and European Norm (EN)
flame engulfment certified.
The dragging handle and the carry handle are only to be used for rescue of
the wearing operator. It is not to be used as a harness during roping
operations or as a raising and lowering device.
