What does 'Motor PTC' error signify on CG Emotron VFX48 Controller?
    • U
      usanchezSep 9, 2025
If the CG Controller displays 'Motor PTC', it indicates that the motor thermistor (PTC) exceeds the maximum level. Note: This is only valid if [237] is enabled. Check for mechanical overload on the motor or machinery (bearings, gearboxes, etc.), inspect the motor cooling system (self-cooled motors may have too high a load at low speed), and consider setting PTC, menu [237], to OFF.

How to fix 'Over temp' on CG Emotron VFX48 Controller?
    • C
      Claudia JonesAug 23, 2025
If the CG Controller displays 'Over temp', it indicates that the heatsink temperature is too high. This may be due to: * A high ambient temperature. * Insufficient cooling. * Excessive current. * Blocked fans. To fix this, check the cooling of the AC drive cabinet, ensure the built-in fans are working (they should activate automatically when the heatsink temperature is high), verify the AC drive and motor rating, and clean the fans.

What causes 'Over volt D(eceleration)' on CG Emotron VFX48 Controller and how to resolve it?
    • M
      Molly BowmanAug 25, 2025
If the CG Controller shows 'Over volt D(eceleration)', it means the DC Link voltage is too high. This can happen if the deceleration time is too short for the motor/machine inertia, or if the brake resistor is too small or malfunctioning. To solve this, check the deceleration time settings and increase them if necessary. Also, check the dimensions and functionality of the brake resistor and the brake chopper (if one is used).

Why does CG Emotron VFX48 Controller show 'Under voltage' and how to fix it?
    • S
      Samantha MejiaAug 27, 2025
If the CG Controller displays 'Under voltage', it means the DC Link voltage is too low. This can be caused by: * Too low or no supply voltage. * Mains voltage dip due to starting other major power consuming machines on the same line. To resolve this, ensure all three phases are properly connected and the terminal screws are tightened. Verify that the mains supply voltage is within the AC drive's limits. If the dip is caused by other machinery, try using other mains supply lines or use the low voltage override function [421].

What causes 'Locked rotor' error on CG Emotron VFX48?
    • J
      joshuamontgomeryAug 27, 2025
If the CG Controller displays 'Locked rotor', it indicates that the torque limit has been reached while the motor is at a standstill. This is often due to mechanical blocking of the rotor. Check for mechanical problems at the motor or the machinery connected to it. You can also set the locked rotor alarm to OFF.

What does 'Motor lost' mean on CG Emotron VFX48?
    • D
      David MillerAug 29, 2025
If the CG Controller displays 'Motor lost', it indicates a phase loss or too great an imbalance on the motor phases. To address this, check the motor voltage on all phases, look for loose or poor motor cable connections. If connections are okay, contact your supplier. Alternatively, you can set the motor lost alarm to OFF.

What does 'Power Fault' mean on CG Emotron VFX48 Controller?
    • J
      Joseph FordSep 17, 2025
If the CG Controller displays 'Power Fault', it means that one of the PF (Power Fault) trips has occurred, but the specific cause could not be determined. Check the PF errors and try to determine the cause. The trip history may be helpful.

What does 'Brake' mean on CG Controller?
    • M
      Matthew JonesSep 18, 2025
If the CG Controller displays 'Brake', it indicates that the brake tripped on a brake fault (not released) or the brake was not engaged during a stop. Check the Brake acknowledge signal wiring to the selected digital input. Verify the programming of digital input DigIn 1-8, [520]. Check the circuit breaker feeding the mechanical brake circuit, the mechanical brake (if the acknowledge signal is wired from a brake limit switch), and the brake contactor. Also, check settings [33C], [33D], [33E], [33F].

What does 'PTC' mean on CG Controller?
    • J
      jimenezzacharySep 8, 2025
If the CG Controller displays 'PTC', it means the motor thermistor (PTC) exceeds the maximum level. Note: This is only valid if the option board PTC/PT100 is used. Check for mechanical overload on the motor or machinery (bearings, gearboxes, etc.), inspect the motor cooling system (self-cooled motors may have too high a load at low speed), and consider setting PTC, menu [234], to OFF.

What does 'Desat' error mean on CG Emotron VFX48?
    • S
      Sharon SmithSep 5, 2025
If the CG Controller displays 'Desat', it indicates a failure in the output stage, such as desaturation of IGBTs, a hard short circuit between phases or phase to earth, or an earth fault. For size B - D it can be also the Brake IGBT. Check for bad motor cable connections, bad earth cable connections, and moisture in the motor housing and cable connections. Verify that the motor's rating plate data is correctly entered. Check the brake resistor, brake IGBT, and wiring. For size G and up, check the cables from the PEBBs to the motor to ensure they are in the correct order in parallel connection.
