Why is my Char-Broil 463724512 Grill not igniting? (No spark, no noise)

  If no sparks appear at any electrodes and no noise is heard from the spark module when pressing the electronic ignition button on your Char-Broil Grill, several issues could be the cause. First, check if the battery is not installed properly and ensure that the “+” and “–” connectors are oriented correctly, with “+” on the cap end. Second, the battery might be dead, so replace it with a new alkaline battery. Third, the button assembly might not be installed properly; unscrew the button cap assembly and reinstall, making sure the threads are aligned and engaged fully. Lastly, the spark module might be faulty, so replace the spark module assembly.

How to prevent flare-ups on my Char-Broil Grill?

  Flare-ups on your Char-Broil Grill can occur due to grease buildup. To resolve this, clean the burners and the inside of the grill/firebox. Another cause can be excessive fat in the meat; trim the fat before grilling. Finally, excessive cooking temperature can cause flare-ups, so adjust the temperature accordingly by lowering it.

Why is the flame so low on my Char-Broil 463724512 Grill?

  A sudden drop in gas flow or low flame in your Char-Broil Grill could be due to several reasons. First, check if your LP cylinder is out of gas. Second, the excess flow valve might have tripped; in this case, turn off the knobs, wait 30 seconds, and light the grill. If flames are still low, turn off knobs and the LP cylinder valve, disconnect the regulator, reconnect it, perform a leak test, turn on the LP cylinder valve, wait 30 seconds, and then light the grill. Finally, a vapor lock might have occurred at the coupling nut/LP cylinder connection; turn off the knobs and LP cylinder valve, disconnect the coupling nut from the cylinder, reconnect it, and try again.

  If the flames on your Char-Broil Grill are blowing out, it might be due to high or gusting winds. Turn the front of the grill to face the wind or increase the flame height. Another cause could be low LP gas, so refill the LP cylinder. Also, the excess flow valve may have tripped; refer to the troubleshooting steps for a sudden drop in gas flow.

Why are the sparks weak on my Char-Broil 463724512 Grill?

  If sparks are present but not at all electrodes or not at full strength on your Char-Broil Grill, it could be due to several reasons. First, check if the output lead connections are not connected and reconnect all output connections at the module and electrodes. Second, arcing to the grill away from the burner(s) may be happening; observe the grill in a dark location, operate the ignition system, and look for arcing between output wires and the grill frame. A weak battery can also cause this issue, so replace the battery with a new alkaline battery. Additionally, if the electrodes are wet, use a paper towel to remove moisture. Finally, the electrodes may be cracked or broken (“sparks at crack”), so replace the cracked or broken electrodes.
