Other potential issues include a cracked or broken electrode (indicated by sparks at the crack), a loose or disconnected wire (reconnect it or replace the electrode/wire assembly), a wire shorting between the ignitor and electrode (replace the ignitor wire/electrode assembly), or a bad ignitor (replace the ignitor).

      A sudden drop in gas flow or low flame on your Char-Broil grill can be caused by two main issues: either you're out of gas (check the LP tank), or the excess flow valve has tripped. If the excess flow valve tripped, turn off the knobs, wait 30 seconds, and light the grill. If the flames are still low, turn off the knobs and LP tank valve, disconnect the regulator, reconnect it, perform a leak test, turn on the LP tank valve, wait 30 seconds, and then light the grill.

      If the burners on your Char-Broil grill won't light with a match, there could be several reasons. First, check if the LP tank is empty, and if not, refer to "Sudden drop in gas flow". Ensure the coupling nut and regulator are fully connected by tightening the coupling nut about one-half to three-quarters of an additional turn until it stops, tightening by hand only, without tools. Obstructions in the gas flow can also be a cause, so clear the burner tubes. Another possibility is the disengagement of the burner to the valve, so reengage the burner and valve. Finally, check the assembly instructions to ensure the grill is assembled correctly.

      If you are unable to fill your LP tank, it may be because some dealers have older fill nozzles with worn threads. These worn nozzles might not have enough "bite" to engage the valve. Try a second LP dealer.
