Quick Start Guide Cisco Aironet 1300 Series Access Point
Role in Radio
Network
Determines what function the bridge performs in the
wireless network.
Options: Root, Non-Root, Install Mode, Root AP,
Workgroup Bridge
Default: Depends on Cisco IOS Release in use. See
“Important Information” section on page 1 for additional
information.
Root Bridge connects directly to the main
Ethernet LAN and accepts associations
from other bridges and clients.
Non-root Bridge connects to a remote LAN and must
associate with a root bridge using the
wireless interface.
Install
Mode
Activates the bridge install and alignment
mode.
Root AP Bridge emulates a Cisco Aironet 1100
Series Access Point and allows clients to
associate to it.
Workgroup
Bridge
Bridge emulates a Cisco Aironet 350 Series
Workgroup Bridge and allows devices to
connect to it through a hub.
