What to do if my ClimateMaster Tranquility 16 has a HP Fault Code 2 High Pressure?
    • D
      Daniel NguyenAug 18, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump displays a High Pressure fault, several issues could be the cause. In cooling mode, check for reduced or no water flow by inspecting the pump and valve operation/settings, and adjust the water flow to the correct rate, also ensure the water temperature is within the proper range. In heating mode, check for a dirty air filter and clean or replace it, verify the fan motor operation and look for any airflow restrictions, and also ensure the return air temperature is within the design parameters. Other causes include an overcharged refrigerant level (check superheat/subcooling) or a faulty HP switch (check continuity and replace if necessary).

What causes my ClimateMaster Tranquility 16 Heat Pump to short cycle and how to fix it?
    • A
      afrancoAug 20, 2025
Short cycling in your ClimateMaster Heat Pump can be caused by a dirty air filter (check and clean it), the unit being stuck in "test mode" (reset power or wait 20 minutes for auto exit), an oversized unit for the space (check sizing for actual load), or a compressor overload (check and replace if necessary).

    Garrett BrightAug 23, 2025
Why does my ClimateMaster Tranquility 16 only run the fan?
    • V
      Victoria WarrenAug 23, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump only runs the fan, make sure the thermostat is set for heating or cooling. Check for any lockout codes and reset the power. Inspect the compressor overload and replace it if necessary. Also, check the thermostat wiring at the heat pump, and try jumpering Y and R for compressor operation in test mode.

What to do if my ClimateMaster Heat Pump is not operating in cooling mode?
    • A
      allenpamelaAug 26, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump isn't operating in cooling mode, first check the reversing valve by setting it for cooling demand and verifying 24VAC on the RV coil and at the CXM/DXM board. If the reversing valve is stuck, try running high pressure up by reducing water flow and while operating, engage and disengage RV coil voltage to push the valve. Also, check the thermostat setup to ensure it's set to 'O' for the reversing valve, not 'B'. Verify the O wiring at the heat pump and jumper O and R to listen for an RV coil 'click'. Put the thermostat in cooling mode and check the voltage on O and W to ensure the thermostat is wired correctly.

What to do if my ClimateMaster Tranquility 16 has LP/LOC Fault Code 3 Low Pressure / Loss of Charge?
    • C
      Connie MedinaAug 27, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump shows a Low Pressure/Loss of Charge fault, it could be due to insufficient charge. Check for refrigerant leaks. Also, if the compressor pumps down at start-up, check the charge and start-up water flow.

How to fix condensate fault code 6 on my ClimateMaster Heat Pump?
    • H
      hallhenryAug 30, 2025
To address Condensate Fault Code 6 on your ClimateMaster Heat Pump, check for a blocked drain and clean it. Ensure the trap dimensions and location are correct, positioned ahead of the vent. Verify proper drainage by checking the piping slope away from the unit and the unit's slope toward the outlet. Also, check the vent location for proper venting. Inspect for moisture shorting to the air coil and replace the air filter if it's plugged. Finally, identify and eliminate any restrictions in the return air flow, increasing the return duct and/or grille size if necessary.

Why does my ClimateMaster Tranquility 16 only run the compressor?
    • I
      iallenSep 1, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump only runs the compressor, check the G wiring at the heat pump and jumper G and R for fan operation. Also, jumper G and R for fan operation and check for line voltage across BR contacts on the fan motor relay. Check the fan power enable relay operation (if present). Verify line voltage at the motor and check the capacitor. Finally, check the thermostat wiring at the heat pump, and try jumpering Y and R for compressor operation in test mode.

What causes LT1 Fault Code 4 Water coil low temperature limit on ClimateMaster Tranquility 16 Heat Pump?
    • R
      roblesaliciaSep 4, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump displays a Water coil low temperature limit fault, it could be due to reduced or no water flow in heating. Check the pump and water valve operation/setting. Inspect for a plugged strainer or filter and clean or replace it. Ensure the water flow is adjusted to the proper rate. Verify adequate antifreeze level with a hydrometer. Check the temperature limit setting and clip JW3 jumper for antifreeze use if needed. Ensure the water temperature is within the design parameters and check the thermistor's temperature and impedance correlation per the chart.

    Lauren ParkSep 7, 2025
What causes LT2 Fault Code 5 Air coil low temperature limit on ClimateMaster Heat Pump?
    • M
      Mary GonzalezSep 7, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump shows an Air coil low temperature limit fault, check for a dirty air filter and clean or replace it. Inspect the fan motor operation and airflow restrictions. Verify that the external static pressure is not too high. Ensure the entering air temperature is within design parameters. The temperature limit setting should be 30°F unless otherwise required. Also, check the thermistor's temperature and impedance correlation per chart.

What does Unit Performance Sentinel Code 8 mean on my ClimateMaster Tranquility 16?
    • A
      Aaron PowersSep 9, 2025
If your ClimateMaster Heat Pump displays Unit Performance Sentinel Code 8, in heating mode, if FP2 is greater than 125°F [52°C], check for poor air flow or an overcharged unit. In cooling mode, if FP1 is greater than 125°F [52°C] or FP2 is less than 40ºF [4ºC], check for poor water flow or air flow.
