Clearing CMOS
If the power-on password is unknown, clearing CMOS will disable the password and
allow the computer to boot.
The location of the Real-time clock (RTC) battery is shown on the system board
illustration below.
Complete the
preparation for
disassembly
procedures.

Remove the
side access
panel.
2.
To disable the
password,
move the
jumper
from pins 1-2
(normal) to pins
2-3 (clear
CMOS) for 10
seconds, then
return to pins
1-2.
