The EV value indicates the effective meter
coupling
range
for the exposure
meter in
relation to the lens
and film
speeds
in use. lt shows various
combinations of aperture and shutter speeds which
will
create the same exposure effect on
the film
when
the external
light remains
at a
fixed level.
At
EV13 for example, the
same exposure
effect can
be
obtained by either by
photographing
at F16
at
1/30
sec. or at
F8
at
1/125 sec.
as the aperture table
indicates.
