The
"8"
(Bulb)
setting of
the shutter speed dial
is
especially
useful
for night
photography
or
astrophotography
requiring exposures
in
excess of
1
second.
To
perform
time exposures
at
"8":
Set
the shutter speed
dial to
"B,"
select
the
appropriate
lens aperture and
press
the shutter
release button.
The exposure
will
be
made
and
the
shutter
will remain
open
for
as
long
as the shutter
release
button
is held
down.
To
prevent
camera
shake during
time
exposures,
fix the
camera to a
tripod
or
set
it
on a stable surface,
then
connect a
cable
release to the cable
release
socket
and
take the
photograph.
