SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS
TO REPLACE FRICTION WHEEL
Ifthesnowthrowerwillnot move torward,andthefriction
wheel is worn or damaged, you need to replace it as
follows:(First allow the engine to cool.)
Drainthe gasolinefrom the lueltankby removingthe
fuel lineatthe carburetor.Drainthefuel ina container
and reinstallthe fuel line.
Disconnectthe spark plugwire.
Standthe snowthrowerup onthe augerhousingend.
Remove the bottompanel (See Fig. 30).
Remove thethree (3) fasteners securingthe friction
wheel to the hub (See Fig. 31).
Remove the four boltssecuring the bearing plates
(bothsides).(See Fig. 32).
Remove rightside bearing plate. Leave hox shaft in
originalposition.
Removefrictionwheelfromhub.Slipfrictionwheelofl
hexshafttowardsrightside.
Slip new friction wheel onto hub with recessed or
cuppedend away from hub. (See Fig. 31).
Installhearing plates to originalposition.Ensurehex
shaftisengaged with both bearing plates.
Secure bearing plates, usingbolts removed earlier.
Securefrictionwheelto hubusingfasteners removed
earlier.Ensurehex shaftturnsfreely.
NOTE: Ensurefriction wheel andfriction discaretreefrom
grease or oil.
Replace bottom panel
Lower the snow throwerontothetires.
