SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS
TO REPLACE FRICTION WHEEL
Ifthesnowthrowerwillnot move torward,andthefriction
wheel is worn or damaged, you need to replace it as
follows:(First allow the engine to cool.)
• Drainthe gasolinefrom the lueltankby removingthe
fuel lineatthe carburetor.Drainthefuel ina container
and reinstallthe fuel line.
• Disconnectthe spark plugwire.
• Standthe snowthrowerup onthe augerhousingend.
• Remove the bottompanel (See Fig. 30).
• Remove thethree (3) fasteners securingthe friction
wheel to the hub (See Fig. 31).
• Remove the four boltssecuring the bearing plates
(bothsides).(See Fig. 32).
• Remove rightside bearing plate. Leave hox shaft in
originalposition.
• Removefrictionwheelfromhub.Slipfrictionwheelofl
hexshafttowardsrightside.
• Slip new friction wheel onto hub with recessed or
cuppedend away from hub. (See Fig. 31).
• Installhearing plates to originalposition.Ensurehex
shaftisengaged with both bearing plates.
• Secure bearing plates, usingbolts removed earlier.
• Securefrictionwheelto hubusingfasteners removed
earlier.Ensurehex shaftturnsfreely.
• NOTE: Ensurefriction wheel andfriction discaretreefrom
grease or oil.
• Replace bottom panel
• Lower the snow throwerontothetires.
