SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS
TO ADJUST OR REPLACE
THE SPARK PLUG
Ifyou have difficultystartingyour snowthrower,you may
need to adjust or replace the spark plug. Follow the
instructionsbelow.
Replace the sparkplug if the electrodes are pitted or
burnedor ifthe porcelainis cracked.
TO ADJUS_
Clean the sparkplug by carefullyscrapingthe elec-
trodes(do notsand blastor use a wire brush).
Be sure the spark plug is clean and free of foreign
material.Checkthe electrodesgap (See Fig.35) with
a wirefeeler gauge and resetthegap to .030 inch if
necessary.
TO REPLACE:
If you need a new spark plug,use only the proper
replacementsparkplug (See page 4).
Set the gap to .030.

Beforeinstallingthesparkplug,coatitsthreadslightly
with oil or grease to insureeasy removal
Tightenthe plugfirmlyintothe engine.
Ifatorquewrenchisavailable,torquetheplugto 18to
23 ft. - Ibs.
