OPERATION
5.2 PRE-OPERATION CHECKLIST
Effi cient and safe operation of the Stringer Trailer requires
that each operator reads and understands the operating
procedures and all related safety precautions outlined in this
section. A pre-operation checklist is provided for the opera-
tor. It is important for both personal safety and maintaining
the good mechanical condition of the equipment that this
checklist is followed.
Before operating the equipment and each time thereafter,
the following areas should be checked off:
1. Service the machine per the schedule outlined in the
maintenance checklist.
2. Use only a tractor of adequate power and specifications
to operate the machine.
3. Check that all guards are installed, secured and func-
tioning as intended. Do not operate with missing or
damaged shields.
4. Ensure that the equipment is properly attached to the
tractor and that mechanical retainers, such as quick
pins, are installed.
5. Visually inspect the hydraulic system for leakage, loose
fittings, and damaged hoses. Tighten fittings, replace
damaged components and wipe up leaked or excess
hydraulic fluid.
5.3 LOADING TILE
1. Hitch the trailer to an acceptable tow vehicle.
2. Rotate the trailer table so one of the folding table wings
is at the rear of the trailer.
3. Engage the table lock.
4. Remove the table wing lock and fold the wing up under
the table and secure with a snap pin.
5. Use the switch pendant to raise the trailer table so that
the trailer top is just above ground level.
6. Remove the spool top manually by lifting and pulling
until the top has been removed. Set the top aside.
7. Back the trailer spindle into center of roll of tile while
looking through viewport on table deck, so as not dam-
age tile by striking it with mast tube.
8. Back into tile until tile contacts the table.
9. Place the top ring back on trailer spindle ensuring it is
fully seated.
10. Keeping a safe operating distance raise the stringer
table and top.
11. Once fully raised release the table wing and lock upright
and remove the table lock to string tile.
NOTE
Tile stringer works best by having the outer tile wrap at
the table and the inner tile wrap at the top so the table
rotates counter clockwise.
Spool top is heavy.
