Why is my Crusader Water Filtration System failing to draw brine or not using any salt?

  If your Crusader Water Filtration System isn't drawing brine or using salt, start by verifying the operating pressure; it must exceed 30 psi dynamic. Other potential causes include a plugged injector (clean injector), a plugged injector filter (clean injector filter), or the piston stuck in incorrect position (inspect drivetrain and perform remedial action). Additionally, check for a restricted/obstructed drain line (check drain line for kinks, restrictions, or obstructions), a restricted/obstructed brine line (check brine line for kinks, restrictions, or obstructions), or a leak in the brine line (verify brine line and connections for air leakage). Finally, there might be insufficient water in the brine tank, so refer to the troubleshooting steps for “System fails to refill brine tank”.

  If your Crusader Water Filtration System is losing media through the drain line, it could be due to a damaged lower and/or upper distributor (replace distributor(s)), a leak between rise tube and upper distributor (verify that riser tube is seat correctly and is not cracked), or heat and/or pressure damage (inspect pressure regulating valve and hot water backup protection devices. Perform appropriate remedial action).

  If your Crusader Water Filtration System isn't showing a softening or filtering display when water is flowing, the bypass valve might be in the bypass position; put bypass valve in service position. Alternatively, the meter connection could be disconnected; connect meter to PC board. Other potential issues include a restricted/stalled meter turbine (remove meter and check for rotation or foreign material), a defective meter (replace meter), or a defective PC board (replace PC board).
