FUEL AND OIL RECOMMENDATIONS
Fuel
Use only dean, fresh, unleaded regular grade
gasoline.

O_lane Rating
The octane rating of a gasoline is a measure of
its fesL_tance to =knocking'. Use a min_um of 87
octane bythe antiknock index is recommended. The
antm_nockindex is posted on servi_e station pumps
in the U,S,A.
NOTE
0 ff %'zoGk_g or pinging'oGGum, use a different
brand of gasoline or higher ocfane rating.
OxygenatedFuel
Oxygenates(eitherethanolor MTBE) are added
to thegasoline, if youusetheoxygenatedfuelbe
sureitisunleadedand meetsthe minimumoctane
ratingrequirement,
Thefollowingarethe EPAapprovedpercentages
o1:_el oxygenates,
ETHANOL: (Ethyl or Grain Alcohol)
You may use gasoline containing up to 10%
ethanol by volume.
MTBE: (Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether)
You may usegasoline containingupto 15% MTBE
by volume.
METHANOL: (Methyl or Wood Alcohol)
YOu may use gasolir_ containing up to 5%
methanol by volume, as long as it also contains
cosolventsand corrosion inhtbitorsto pmtecl the
fuel system. Gasoline containing more than 5%
methanol by volume may cause starting and/or
performance problems, It may also damage
metal, rubber, and plasti_ parts of your fuel sys-
tern.
