After you install your new D-Link adapter, by default, the TCP/IP
settingsshouldbesettoobtainanIPaddressfromaDHCPserver
(i.e.router)automatically.ToverifyyourIPaddress,pleasefollow
thestepsbelow.

2000/XP:ClickonStart > Run.Intherunboxtypecmd
andclickOK.

7: Click on Start > All Programs >
Accessories > Command Prompt.
Attheprompt,typeipconfig
andpressEnter.
This will display the IP
address,subnetmask,and
thedefaultgatewayofyour
adapter.
If the address is 0.0.0.0, check your adapter installation, security
settings, and the settings on your router. Some rewall software
programsmayblockaDHCPrequestonnewlyinstalledadapters.
Ifyouareconnectingtoawirelessnetworkatahotspot(e.g.hotel,
coffeeshop,airport),pleasecontactanemployeeoradministrator
toverifytheirwirelessnetworksettings.

