config 802.1x auth_mode
Purpose Used to configure the 802.1x authentication mode on the Switch.
Syntax
config 802.1x auth_mode {port_based | mac_based]
Description The config 802.1x authentication mode command is used to enable
either the port-based or MAC-based 802.1x authentication feature
on the Switch.
Parameters
[port_based | mac_based ports] − The Switch allows you to
authenticate 802.1x by either port or MAC address.
Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To configure 802.1x authentication by MAC address:
DES-3526:4#config 802.1x auth_mode mac_based
Command: config 802.1x auth_mode mac_based
Success.

config 802.1x capability ports
Purpose Used to configure the 802.1x capability of a range of ports on the
Switch.
Syntax
config 802.1x capability ports [<portlist> | all] [authenticator |
none]
Description The config 802.1x command has four capabilities that can be set for
each port. Authenticator, Supplicant, Authenticator and Supplicant,
and None.
Parameters
<portlist> − Specifies a port or range of ports to be configured.
