clear counters
Purpose Used to clear the Switch’s statistics counters.
Syntax
clear counters {ports <portlist>}
Description This command will clear the counters used by the Switch to compile
statistics.
Parameters
<portlist> − Specifies a port or range of ports to be displayed.
Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To clear the counters:
DES-3526:4#clear counters ports 2-9
Command: clear counters ports 2-9
Success.

clear log
Purpose Used to clear the Switch’s history log.
Syntax
clear log
Description This command will clear the Switch’s history log.
Parameters None.
Restrictions Only administrator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To clear the log information:
DES-3526:4#clear log
Command: clear log
Success.
DES-3526:4#
show log
Purpose Used to display the switch history log.
Syntax
show log {index <value>}
Description This command will display the contents of the Switch’s history log.
Parameters
index <value>
−
This command will display the history log,
beginning at 1 and ending at the value specified by the user in the
<value> field.
If no parameter is specified, all history log entries will be displayed.
Restrictions None.
Example usage:
