Most expansion valves used in current Daikin Heat Pump products
use an internally checked expansion valve.
This type of expansion valve does not require an external check valve as shown above.
However, the principle of operaon is the same.
In the cooling mode, the orice is pushed into its seat,
forcing refrigerant to ow through the metered hole in
the center of the orice.
In the heang mode, the orice moves back o its seat,
allowing refrigerant to ow unmetered around the outside
of the orice.
