How to fix a Dake SE712 blade that's not cutting straight?
    • R
      Robert ColemanAug 17, 2025
If your Dake Saw blade isn't cutting straight, several factors could be the cause. The feed pressure might be too high or too low; adjust it by increasing or decreasing the spring tension on the side of the saw. Ensure the guide bearings are properly adjusted with a clearance no greater than .001”. A dull blade could also be the culprit, so consider replacing it. Verify you're using the correct blade speed by consulting the charts inside the pulley cover and in the “BLADE SPEED” section. Also, check if the blade guides are spaced too far apart and adjust them. Ensure the blade guide assembly is tight. Finally, make sure the blade tracks correctly in relation to the wheel flanges.

Why is the motor on my Dake SE712 running too hot?
    • C
      Charles EwingAug 20, 2025
A Dake Saw motor can overheat due to several reasons. The blade tension might be too high; reduce the tension. Excessive drive belt tension can also cause overheating; loosen the two hex head screws under the motor pulley cover to reduce tension. Using a blade that is too coarse or too fine for the material can strain the motor; use the appropriate blade. Improperly aligned gears (adjust gears so that worm is in the center of the gear) or gears needing lubrication (check oil path) are other potential causes. Finally, a cut binding the blade (decrease feed pressure) can also lead to the motor running hot.

What to do if my Dake Saw blade is dulling too quickly?
    • M
      michaelbellAug 26, 2025
If your Dake Saw blade is dulling prematurely, consider these potential causes: the blade teeth may be too coarse (use a blade with finer teeth/higher TPI), the blade speed might be too high (decrease speed), or the feed pressure could be too little (decrease spring tension on side of the saw). Hard spots or scale on the material (reduce speed and/or increase feed pressure) and work hardening of the material (increase feed pressure by reducing spring tension) can also contribute to premature dulling. Check if the blade is twisting (replace with a new blade) or sliding (increase blade tension).

How to prevent rough cuts with my Dake SE712?
    • J
      Jennifer LaneAug 28, 2025
Rough cuts on your Dake Saw can be caused by: blade speed and/or feed pressure being too high (lower blade speed and/or feed pressure), using a blade that is too coarse (use a finer tooth blade), or blade tension being too loose (increase tension on the blade).

Why are the teeth ripping from my Dake SE712 blade?
    • R
      Richard PetersonSep 1, 2025
If teeth are ripping from your Dake Saw blade, it could be because the blade teeth are too coarse for the material (use a blade with a higher TPI), the blade speed is too slow (decrease feed pressure and/or increase blade speed), the workpiece is vibrating (re-clamp work more securely), or the blade teeth are loading up with material (use a coarser tooth blade, or use brush to remove chips).

What causes unusual wear on the side or back of my Dake Saw blade?
    • L
      Leslie FieldsSep 5, 2025
Unusual wear on the side or back of your Dake Saw blade can be due to worn blade guides (replace blade guides), blade guide bearings not adjusted properly (readjust guide bearings), or a loose blade guide bearing bracket (tighten guide bracket using the adjustment knob (item 261)).

Why is the blade twisting on my Dake Saw?
    • A
      April ReedSep 8, 2025
Blade twisting on your Dake Saw can occur if the cut is binding the blade (decrease feed pressure) or if the blade tension is too high (decrease blade tension).

Why is my Dake Saw blade breaking so much?
    • C
      Charlene WhiteNov 12, 2025
Excessive blade breakage in your Dake Saw can occur for several reasons. It could be due to materials loosening in the vise; make sure to re-clamp the work more securely. The blade speed or feed pressure might be incorrect; adjust them accordingly. The blade teeth spacing may be too large, requiring a replacement with a higher TPI blade. Other potential causes include the material being too coarse (slow down speed and use a higher TPI blade), incorrect blade tension (readjust so it barely doesn't slip), teeth contacting the material before starting (place blade slightly above before turning on), blade rubbing against the wheel flange (adjust blade alignment), misaligned guide bearings (adjust them), a blade that's too thick (replace with a thinner one), or cracking at the blade weld (weld ...
