Volt, a unit of electrical potential (voltage)
version number
The version number of the DT80’s firmware consists of a major number, a minor number and a build number, e.g.
for Version 6.18.0002, the major number is 6, the minor number is 18 and the build number is 2.
vibrating wire strain gauge
a sensor for measuring strain, which works by detecting changes in the resonant frequency of a steel wire as its
length changes.
whitespace
The set of "blank" ASCII characters, namely ASCII character codes 9 (tab), 10 (line feed), 11 (vertical tab), 12 (form
feed), 13 (carriage return) and 32 (space).
XON/XOFF
Transmitter on / transmitter off. Control characters used for software flow control (SWFC), instructing a device to
start transmission (XON) and end transmission (XOFF).
