7 CLEANING
7.1 HAND CLEANING
Risk of accident!
A risk of dust creation and injury exists when opening the cover if the PTS chamber is
still under pressure. Before opening the cover, ensure that the system is shut down
and the chamber is not under vacuum or pressure (vent the unit beforehand).
1) Close the compressed air supply to the control panel;
2) Open the cover (screws or fast couplings depending on the model);
3) Remove the cover;
4) Remove the filter;
5) Clean the filter with compressed air or inert gas. If other filtration membranes are installed,
please refer to the specific technical data sheet in the technical documentation;
Risk of damage to components!
The filter cloth should never come in contact with water or some other liquid. The
filter must be cleaned with air or else be replaced.
6) Dismantle the product inlet flange;
7) Remove the inlet valve V1;
8) Dismantle the PTS chamber;
9) Remove the outlet valve V2;
10) Clean the PTS chamber with water or with an adequate solvent;
11) Clean valves V1 and V2 with water or with an adequate solvent (check the chemical
resistance of the valve gasket before selecting a cleaning solvent;
12) Reassemble the PTS by reversing the order of the dismantling procedure;
13) Check that all parts are connected to earth according to instructions.
Danger of electrostatic discharge!
Electrostatic charging occurs during powder handling. Electrostatic discharges can
provoke a fire or an explosion. In order to decrease this danger, each component
of the PTS must be adequately connected to earth.
The connecting pipes to the
installation must be made in conductive materials.
