MAN-PTS-GB, Revision 9, BSC, 15-FEB-2017 23/46
Make sure that a pressure reducer (pressure range < 3 bar) is installed in the line for
the supply of compressed gas to discharge the PTS.
In case the process pressure can be higher than the PTS operating pressure (as
indicated in the technical specifications) an appropriate pressure release valve has
to be installed.
13) Connect the powder transfer hose to the connecting piece of the butterfly valve V1.
The piping should be installed in such a manner as to avoid as much as possible a
horizontal disposition. One should also use elbows with large bend radiuses of at
least r = 10d and take care not to bend or pinch flexible hoses during the
installation.
In addition, one should avoid any change of sections or restrictions in the piping
(valve, connection etc.)
Risk of accident !
A high pressure clamp with lock nuts must be fixed at this point to prevent removing
of the piping during operation of the PTS system.
5.3 COMMISSIONING
The parameters of the PTS must be adjusted according to the process during the first
commissioning. Only qualified or specially trained personnel should carry out these
adjustments.
Danger of electrostatic discharge!
Electrostatic charging occurs during powder handling. Electrostatic discharges can
provoke a fire or an explosion. In order to decrease this danger, each component
of the PTS must be adequately connected to earth. The connecting pipes to the
installation must be made in conductive materials.
Risk of damage to components!
An incorrect connection of the pneumatic tubes can provoke damage to the
equipment and make its operation dangerous. For this reason, please follow the
check instructions.
