License the new storage with electronic licensing
Prerequisites
Electronic licensing requires the node Locking ID (system serial number) and the LAC letter code provided as part of the sales
order are required to obtain the electronic license file.
About this task
Use electronic licensing to add Active Tier or Cloud Tier storage on DD OS versions 6.0 and higher.
Steps
Run the elicense update command to add the electronic license file to the system.
ā— Specify the <license-file> parameter when the command is run to allow it to proceed without prompting.
# elicense update electronic-license-file.txt
ā— Run the command without parameters to run the command interactively.
# elicense update
Enter the content of license file and then press Control-D, or press Control-C to
cancel.
Expand the file system
Prerequisites
The new storage must be added to the file system before it can be used.
About this task
Complete the following tasks to add the new storage to the file system.
Steps
1. Add the storage to the file system.
ā— Run the filesys expand command.
# filesys expand
2. Run the filesys show space command to verify the system recognizes the additional capacity.
# filesys show space
