2. Remove the:
a. base cover
b. battery
3. To remove the hard drive assembly:
a. Disconnect the hard drive cable from the connector on the system board [1] .
b. Remove the screws that secure the hard drive assembly to the computer [2].
c. Lift the hard drive assembly away from the computer [3].
Installing the hard drive assembly
If the system is shipped with hard drive assembly perform the following steps.
1. Insert the hard drive assembly into the slot on the computer.
2. Tighten the screws to secure the hard drive assembly to the computer.
3. Connect the hard drive cable to the connector on the hard drive and on the system board.
4. Install the:
a. battery
b. base cover
5. Follow the procedures in After working inside your system.
Removing the hard drive from the hard drive bracket
1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Remove the:
a. base cover
b. battery
c. hard drive assembly
3. Pull the hard drive cable to remove it from the connector.
