Applications
Real and reactive power compensation
Off-grid operation for power backup
Demand charge management/peak shaving
Load shifting for time-of-use savings
Note:
1. The PCS supports operation in grid-tied mode only. The internal relays inside PCS are
designed as an automatic disconnection devices. When grid voltage or frequency is
abnormal, the internal relays will automatically disconnect with the grid according to
AS4777.2 requirements.
2. The PCS supports operation in off-grid (power back up) mode only. There is only one
couple of AC output ports of PCS to supply the local load when PCS is operating in off-
grid mode.
3. The PCS do not support grid-tied mode and off-grid mode transition by itself, since there
is only one couple of AC ports of PCS. In off-grid operation, the internal relays shall be
closed to supply voltage to the local load, an external automatic disconnection device shall
be used to disconnect PCS and local load with the grid when grid voltage or frequency
abnormal. This external automatic disconnection device shall meet AS4777.2
requirements. And this external automatic disconnection device is not in Delta supply
scope.
Note:
(about setting power quality response modes)
The PCS have the capability of operating in modes wich will contribute to maintaining the power
quality at the point of connetion with the customer installation; or provide characteristcs which
are outside the typical operation of an inverter for the purpose of providing support to a grid.
These various operating modes may be enabled or disabled in an inverter and may include the
following: Volt response modes, Fixed power factor or reactive power mode, Power response
mode and Power rate limit.
User can refer to chapter 6.2, 6.7, 6.8, 6.9 and 6.10 of Operation Manual <PCS100HV_OM>
respectively for each power quality response mode settings.
