4. REMOTE CONTROL
4-1 Outline of the operation
This machine is equipped with remote function so as to start and stop by the external signals.
4-2 Indications and operation device
This machine is equipped with “ LOCAL-REMOTE CHANGE-OVER SWITCH “ and
“TERMINAL BLOCK ” for the connection to external devices mentioned below.
(1) Remote start-stop signal
This machine can start and stop by the signals of ON and OFF come from external devices.
(2) Generator fault signal
Indication lamp ( 12V or 24V ) less than 3W can be connected for the abnormality indication
in case of emergency engine shut down.
(3) Battery charger
Automatic floating battery charger can be connected for long term standby condition.
4-3 Local operation ( operation by the starter switch )
Turn the LOCAL-REMOTE CHANGE-OVER SWITCH to “ LOCAL ” , and start the engine with
the starter switch on this machine.
Refer to P.33 3-4 “Starting” of instruction manual for the details.
4-4 Remote operation
Turn the LOCAL-REMOTE CHANGE-OVER SWITCH to “ REMOTE ” .
This machine can start and stop by ON-OFF signals from external devices.
4-4-1 Setting of operation switches
Before remote operation, start this machine at local position to set the voltage and the frequency.
After then, set each operation switches as mentioned below. Also, make sure these setting
positions after making maintenance and inspection without fail.
ENGINE GENERATOR
(1) Set the starter switch to “ RUN ” position.
(2) Set the voltage regulator to the rated voltage position.
(3) Turn the circuit breaker to “ ON ” position.
(4) Turn the REMOTE-LOCAL CHANGE-OVER SWITCH to “ REMOTE ” position.
Note: External signals must be “ OFF ” during the setting of these switches on this engine generator.
4-4-2 Starting
(1) Start-signal ( ON ) is sent from external devices.
(2) After preheating period ( T1 sec. ), the engine will start.
(3) If the engine cannot start with the first cranking ( for T2 sec. ) it will cease the engine
cranking ( for T2 sec. ). Then it will try the second cranking. This operation will be
repeated 3 times.
If the engine cannot start after 3 times of cranking, it will stop the cranking. Then it will send
generator fault signal to external devices. Check and remove the cause of trouble.
