Issue Possible causes
Both the indoor unit
and outdoor unit
make noises
Low hssng sound durng operaton: Ths s normal and s caused by
refrgerant gas flowng through both ndoor and outdoor unts.
Low hssng sound when the system starts, has just stopped runnng, or
s defrostng: Ths nose s normal and s caused by the refrgerant gas
stoppng or changng drecton.
Squeakng sound: Normal expanson and contracton of plastc and
metal parts caused by temperature changes durng operaton can cause
squeakng noses.
The outdoor unit
makes noises
The unt wll make dfferent sounds based on ts current operatng
mode.
Dust is emitted from
either the indoor or
outdoor unit
The unt may accumulate dust durng extended perods of non-use,
whch wll be emtted when the unt s turned on.
Ths can be mtgated by coverng the unt durng long perods of
nactvty.
The unit emits a bad
odor
The unt may absorb odors from the envronment (such as furnture,
cookng, cgarettes, etc.) whch wll be emtted durng operatons.
The unt’s flters have become moldy and should be cleaned.
The fan of the
outdoor unit does not
operate
Durng operaton, the fan speed s controlled to optmze product
operaton.
Operation is erratic,
unpredictable, or unit
is unresponsive
Interference from cell phone towers and remote boosters may cause
the unt to malfuncton.
In ths case, try the followng:
•Dsconnect the power, then reconnect.
•Press ON/OFF button on remote control to restart operaton.
