top to clear the brackets and pull back. Lift top care-
fully, and place to the side of the stove. Caution should
be taken as the top mounting brackets may scratch the
nish.
Remove all of the rear cover retaining screw located at 5.
the lower center of the rear cover.
Remove the light cover, being careful not to damage any 6.
of the wiring or light bulbs.
Pull out on the rear cover, bowing it slightly, and remove 7.
it from its mounting slot. When the cover is removed,
place it at behind the stove being careful not to damage
any of the wiring.
Remove the partially reective glass panel by sliding it up 8.
through the top.
Locate the rear icker assembly cover and slide it out 9.
the open back, exposing the icker motor and icker rod
assembly.
Remove the mounting bracket retaining screws and slide 10.
the log and ember assembly, with the icker motor and
rod assembly, out through open back.
Locate the icker motor and icker rod assembly and 11.
remove the wiring clips and connections located by the
heater assembly, noting their original locations.
Remove the icker motor mounting screws and pull the 12.
assembly out of the mounting bracket.

NOTE: When removing the Flicker Rod, damage may
occur if bent excessively. If the Flicker Rod is damaged,
replace to ensure proper operation.
To remove the icker rod, attach needle nose pliers to 13.
the spring on the motor shaft and pull while rotating in
the opposite direction of the spring winding.
To remove the icker motor you must rst remove the 14.
icker rod (see above). Remove the motor mounting
screws and remove motor from the mounting bracket.
To replace the icker rod attach needle nose pliers to the 15.
icker rod spring and push onto the icker motor shaft
while rotating in the opposite direction of the spring wind-
ing.
Properly orient the icker motor and reconnect all of the 16.
wiring clips connections in their original locations.
Reassemble in the reverse order as above.17.
Flicker Motor/Flicker Rod Replacement
(Mod B-D)
WARNING: If unit was operating prior to servicing allow
at least 10 minutes for light bulbs and heating element to
cool off to avoid accidental burning of skin.
WARNING: Disconnect power before attempting any
maintenance or cleaning to reduce the risk of electric
shock or damage to persons.
Tools Required: Phillips head Screwdriver
Needle Nose Pliers
Remove the stove pipe kit (if equipped).1.
Gently place stove on its back on a at surface.2.
Remove the heater cover retaining screws located on the 3.
bottom of the stove and lower heater and light assembly
out onto the oor.
Remove all of the mounting screws on the heater cover 4.
and separate the cover from the heater and light assem-
bly.
Locate the icker motor and icker rod assembly and 5.
remove the wiring clips and connections located by the
heater assembly, noting their original locations.
Remove the icker motor mounting screws and pull the 6.
assembly out of the mounting bracket.

NOTE: When removing the icker motor some damage
may occur to the icker rod. If icker rod is damaged replace
it, to ensure proper operation.
To remove the icker rod, attach needle nose pliers to 7.

Thermostat Replacement
WARNING: If unit was operating prior to servicing allow
at least 10 minutes for light bulbs and heating element to

WARNING: Disconnect power before attempting any

Depending on the model, the light cover may need to be 3.
removed, being careful not to damage any of the wiring
or light bulbs.
Remove all of the mounting screws on the heater cover 4.
and separate the cover from the heater and light assem-
bly.
Locate the thermostat mounted to the heater cover and 5.
disconnect the wiring connections, noting their original
locations.
Pull off the thermostat control knob to expose the mount-6.
ing screws.
Remove the mounting screws and remove the thermo-7.
stat.
Properly orient the new thermostat and reconnect all of 8.
the wires.
Reassemble in the reverse order as above.9.
