13 Menu: Maintenance
13.1 “Instrument Status” Function
This function will allow a technician to “enable” a disabled
instrument, and clear lockouts. This function also allows the
technician to “disable” the instrument.
13.2 “Print DUI Packet” Function
This function allows the operator to print an English or Spanish
DUI packet.
NOTICE
Note that this is the only menu function available
without an access key.
13.3 “Supervisor Test” Function
CAUTION
This accuracy verification test must be done with
ethanol standards only. The calcheck function tests for
accuracy and precision of the instrument and no
interfering substance tests may be performed.
The Supervisor Test is used when the technician wants the
instrument
to measure and report the values of an external
standard (accuracy verification).
To perform the test, select “Maintenance” in the
main menu,
and double tap on “Supervisor Test.”
Verify all options are correct and press the “Save” button.
Test Gas: Dry gas or wet bath.
Concen. (Target Concentration): Enter the alcohol concen-
tration of the dry gas canister or wet bath simulator being
used.
Units: Make sure it is set to “g/210L” for use in Washington.
Resolution: Number of digits behind the decimal in the
measurement.
Test No.: Number of consecutive tests to be performed.
Tol. abs (+/-) (Absolute Tolerance): The allowed difference
from the target concentration expressed in terms of units as
defined in the Units field.
Tol rel. (+/-) (Relative Tolerance): The allowed difference
from the target concentration expressed in terms of per-
centage of the target concentration.
Sensor: Defines which sensor in the instrument is used: the
fuel cell (EC), the infrared system (IR), or both.
Gas Input: Defines which inlet path will be used to supply
the external standard.
The instrument will go through the fo
llowing sequences:
PURGING, BLANK CHECK, DRY GAS CHECK, ANALYZING,
PURGING, BLANK CHECK. The results of the Supervisor Test
wi
ll appear on the displ
ay.
Depending on the number of tests se
lected, the instrument wil
l
either proceed with another Supervisor Test or finish printing
(on the internal printer) and return to the ”READY” mode.
