Device Operation
Description and Intended Use
The Dräger Jaundice Meter JM-105 is intended for use as a screening device for
jaundice in the newborn and can be used
before, during and after phototherapy.
The
Jaundice Meter JM-105 provides a transcutaneous measurement of bilirubin in μmol/L,
identifying neonates who require a serum bilirubin measurement. The Jaundice Meter
JM-105 is appropriate for use on neonates who are:

o more than 24 hours of age
o less than 14 days of age
o > 24 weeks gestational age at birth
o not undergone exchange transfusion.
