Polytron 2000/3000 Measurement Module,
Installation Instructions
Any use of the Polytron 2000/3000 measurement module or Docking Station
requires full understanding and strict observation of the Instructions for Use
of the measurement module.
Installing the measurement module
 Remove the rain cover from the previously installed Docking Station.
 Examine seal for signs of dirt and clean if necessary.
1 Check position of eccentric catches and correct if necessary. The eccentric ope-
ning must point upwards, engaged position.
 Check the polarity and cable routing and check that the connector is securely
seated; rectify as necessary (see the installation notes for the corresponding Do-
cking Station).
 Unpack the measurement module.
2 Slide measurement module into the Docking Station from the front as far as it will
go, roughly halfway up.
3 Lower it along the front edge of the Docking Station until a slight resistance is
encountered approx. 5 mm before the stop
(connecting terminal engages in socket on circuit board).
1 Turn the eccentric catches clockwise with an Allen key to lock the measurement
module (  = approx. 180°).
— Display (when voltage is applied):
Then insert the sensor as follows:
4 Open bayonet ring.
 Remove dummy plate.
 Check sensor part number (sticker in service port of the measurement module).
For this purpose:
5 Open front cover of service port by turning anticlockwise (approx. 60°).
 Place sensor in opening with Dräger logo on sensor facing the front, then push
it lightly upwards until the connector engages.
 Secure the sensor with the bayonet ring in the transmitter.
— The display flashes while the sensor warms up.
 The gas sticker enclosed with the sensor can be affixed to the device for easier
identification.
 If necessary, perform calibration procedure as described in the Instructions for
Use of the measurement module.
CAUTION
Use only a 5 mm Allen key without a ball head.
NOTICE
Check that the terminals in the Docking Station are correctly aligned if the connec-
tor does not engage correctly!
Ensure that the front bottom of the measurement module is flush with the bottom
of the Docking Station. Apply pressure to the measurement module until it "clicks"
into place. If the fronts are not flush, the measurement module is not completely
sealed and could get water inside the transmitter!
CAUTION
Use only a 5 mm Allen key without a ball head.
