Controller Unit REGARD with Channel Module RE-
GARD Ex:
z By means of the menu »10-1 SPAN« type in the
span gas concentration.
Please refer to the Instructions for Use REGARD Ex.
A calibration chamber can be used for calibration with
solvent vapours. This chamber is used to vaporize a
certain quantity of solvent, so as to obtain for example
50 %LEL.
Setting is the same as for span gas.
The use of the calibration chamber pre-supposes ap-
propriate training and knowledge on the part of the per-
sonnel concerned..
If the necessary voltage - or, at the controller unit
REGARD Ex - the necessary span gas concentration
cannot be adjusted:
z Make sure that the proper span gas is used and that
its concentration equals the used value in %LEL.
z Make sure that the span gas flows with the neces-
sary flow of 0.5 L/min through the calibration adapter.
If both these conditions are met, so the either the chan-
nel module is defective or the sensing head’s sensitivity
to the span gas is not sufficient.
z Replace sensor (see page 39) and/or channel mod-
ule.
Following removal of span gas:
– Remove calibration adapter and close the span gas
cylinder’s valve.
– Sensing head in atmosphere free of combustible
gases and vapours!
z Indicator must return to 0 %LEL (0 mV at voltmeter),
pay attention to exemption from gas.

z Repeat calibration /
adjustment.
– If the indicator can
no longer be set to
the value corre-
sponding to the span
gas concentration
when performing cal-
ibration the DrägerSensor has to be replaced (see
page 39).
Finishing Calibration Procedure

Polytron SE Ex:
z If alarms had been inhibited: Remove wire jumper for
alarm inhibition.
z Fit front plate on rack.
Controller Unit REGARD with Channel Module
REGARD Ex:
z By means of menu »00-2 SAVE« save the per-
formed configuration.
Please refer to the Instructions for Use REGARD Ex.
CAUTION
Pay attention to instructions for use of calibration
chamber!
NOTICE
The adjustment work has to be performed for each
channel module.
