Before making the connection, please ensure that the

installation

 Install the supplied Audacity® software on a PC or Mac
before connecting and operating the unit.
 The Audacity® software is freeware. Please check their
website to see if an update is available. Newer versions
or updates are available from
http://audacity.sourceforge.net as needed.
 An alternative program, for example, is the "Free MP3
Sound Recorder". Download on the Internet at
www.nbxsoft.com/sound-recorder.php.
