Setting the Speed
• Use the speed controller (c) to set the speed you want.
The higher the number displayed, the higher the speed.
The speed should be appropriate for the relevant tool and workpiece in order
to achieve a good quality of cut and protect the attachment. If you are not sure
about the speed, start slowly.
Machining Larger Workpieces
CAUTION
!
• Make sure that the workpiece cannot slip. Use a clamping device if necessary.
• Never cut without the edge trimming unit in handheld mode.
• The attachment must always be switched on before touching the workpiece.
• Always hold the motor unit fi rmly with both hands. Work slowly, carefully and by apply-
ing a moderate level of force. Be prepared to press the On/Off switch (b) at any time.
1. Switch on the motor and set the speed you want.
2. Hold the running cutter against the workpiece or lower it
down to the edge trimming unit and move it with constant
pressure. To ensure that the cutter works through the
workpiece evenly, cut synchronously if possible, i.e. with
the direction of rotation (clockwise) of the cutter.
If the cutter advances too quickly, this can lead to lower-quality cutting results
and overloading of the motor. If the cutter advances too slowly, this can cause
overheating of the workpiece.
Circular Cut
CAUTION!
• Always disconnect the device from the mains power before you fi t the router com-
pass.
• There is a danger of injury from the cutter that is fi tted. You should therefore exercise
particular caution.
You can use the router compass (3) to cut out circles with a diameter of 10 to 52 cm.
1. Remove all accessories that may be fi tted, with the exception of the handle (5), from
the device.
2. Attach the cutter you want to the device.
3. Undo the adjusting screw (t) on the router compass, slide the centring pin (x) as
far as the indicated diameter you want on the scale (u) and then tighten the locking
screw again.
4. Fit the router compass onto the edge trimming unit (4) and fi t this onto the motor unit.
5. Set the cutting depth on the edge trimming unit.
