Industrial Relay Card
The IRC uses normally-open or normally-closed dry relay contacts to
indicate the UPS status as listed in Table 6. Figure 56 shows an IRC.

1. Verify that the UPS is turned off and all power sources are
removed.
2. Install wiring from the IRC to the monitoring equipment using 1/2
conduit through the cable exit opening in the IRC (see Figure 56).
3. Connect wiring between the IRC and the monitoring equipment
using terminations shown in Table 6. See Figure 56 for plug‐in
terminal block locations.
4. Install the IRC into an open X-Slot communication bay (see
Figure 48 page 65).
5. To check the operation of the IRC, ensure that the UPS is supplying
the load via the inverter or bypass. If the indicators on the
customer's monitoring equipment show the appropriate status,
then it is operating correctly.
If the IRC is not operating correctly, check the wiring, the fuse on
the IRC, and the plug‐in terminal blocks for proper seating. If all
connections are secure but the IRC still does not operate correctly,
replace the fuse. If this does not correct the problem, contact your
service representative for verification that the IRC is working
correctly.
